1. Every year nearly four million cats are eaten in Asia
2. On averge, cats spend 2/3 every day sleeping
3. A group of cats is called a "clowder"
4. Cats make about 100 differnt sounds
5. Cats are one of the most popular pet in the world
6. Cats have powerful night vision, allowing them to see at light levels six times lower than what a human needs in order to see.
7. On average cats live for around 12 to 15 years.
8. A cat purrs 26 times every second
9. When cats are happy they knead with their paws
10. An adult cat has 30 adult teeth.
11. Cats can run up to 30 miles per hour.
12. Cats cannot taste anything sweet.
13. Majority of cats do not have eyelashes
14. Cats have this capacity to bounce far above the ground at 7 times their own height.
15. Unlike dogs, cats do not have a sweet tooth. Scientists believe this is due to a mutation in a key taste receptor.
16. There are more than 500 million domestic cats in the world, with approximately 40 recognized breeds.
17. Most cats give birth to a litter of between one and nine kittens. The largest known litter ever produced was 19 kittens, of which 15 survived.
18. A cat usually has about 12 whiskers on each side of its face.
19. A female cat is called a queen or a molly.
20. The oldest cat to give birth was Kitty who, at the age of 30, gave birth to two kittens. During her life, she gave birth to 218 kittens.
